Bugs in Feb-25 version of Power BI Desktop
Published On: 2025-03-04The February 2025 (latest) release of Power BI Desktop has introduced a few critical bugs that may disrupt your workflow.
We have identified following bugs in the Feb-25 version of Power BI Desktop:
-
Visuals are not working due to “Measures” Table Naming Issue. This does not display the visuals which use measures from "Measures" table.
-
Dialogs from custom visuals are not opening: Dialogs (like analytics panel, conditional color, sorting) are not opening in Power BI Desktop.
This issue has been fixed in next version (Version: 2.140.1454.0; fixed on March 10, 2025) of Power BI Desktop. More here: Known issue - Custom visuals using dialog or download API don't work in February Desktop - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn
Microsoft have confirmed that they are actively working on these issues. For the time being they have suggested following workaround:
- Use the Power BI web service (https://app.powerbi.com) until the issue with the current desktop version is resolved.
- Download and install the November 2024 version of Power BI Desktop or any earlier release.
Steps to install November 2024 version of Power BI Desktop:
- Uninstall the current version of Power BI Desktop.
- Download the November release from the Microsoft Power BI update archive: Power BI Desktop (Nov 2024 version) Download link
- Install the downloaded version (Note: Admin rights are required to install the direct download version).
