Frequently asked questions

Trial License
There is absolutely no difference in functionality of free trial vs. a paid visual except that trial visuals fail to work after one month from visual export. In fact, trials are given to the users in order to experiment and let them figure out if given solution works in their case.
The trial license are normally valid for 30 days depending on the visuals you have chosen. You can use the visual as long as your license has not expired. The license is free forever on Power BI Desktop and will not expire.
Unfortunately, we do not allow extension of trial license. With the free desktop license, we believe all users have the opportunity to evaluate if our visuals fit their needs. The trial license is primarily meant to upload the dashboards to the Power BI service (or report server) and make sure that it works smoothly. A 30 days period is a generous time to test on the Power BI service (or report server).
Cost
No, prices shown are not including Value Added Tax (VAT) or any local taxes. These taxes are collected as per your applicable jurisdiction and are payable in addition to our regular price. The VAT will only be added in case you are purchasing from a company located in the European Union.
The pricing you started with will continue to apply. If there are price reductions, you will be charged the reduced price on your renewal date. If there are price increases, we will not charge you any additional amount as long as you continue your current plan. Any new plans will be charged at the new rate.
Delivery
For paid licenses, after payment, you will be able to view the license details on screen immediately. In addition to that, within 1 working day, you will receive an email containing the requested licenses. In case you didn’t receive them within the timeframe, please mail us at support@pbivizedit.com
In case of free license, you will receive them in your mail within 1 working day.
Volume
You can buy less than 20 licenses for our visuals directly from our visual page on Microsoft Appsource. Please click on the 'Buy from Microsoft' button in the pricing page to be redirected to the corresponding Appsource page and make your purchase.
We only offer fixed buckets for our licenses. If you prefer to purchase individual seat licenses instead of a bucket, you can do that directly from our visual page on Microsoft Appsource. Please click on the 'Buy from Microsoft' button in the pricing page to be redirected to the corresponding Appsource page and make your purchase..
There are no hidden restrictions with our unlimited seat option. The unlimited option is truly unlimited with no restriction on number of licenses.
Implementation
All of our visuals contain a tab, within the Format pane, labelled “License Details”. Here, you can enter your license name and license key to license the visual. Make sure to add the complete license information, otherwise the license will not work. You can find detailed guide on How to use license keys.
You have two ways of using the licensed non-certified visuals -
    1. Ask your Power BI admin to copy the licensed visuals in the Organizational Store (also referred to as Organization Repository).
    2. Import the licensed visual file directly in your Power BI report

For the certified visuals (does not apply to non-certified), you will need to add from the AppSource directly, and then apply the license in the visual. Please check for links to implementation in the email you received with your license details, or send us an email (support@pbivizedit.com).
Change Package
You can purchase the upgrade to suite using the same email ID used to purchase single package. Our system will locate your existing purchase order, and upgrade this order to a suite license for the remainder of the existing 12 month term.

For e.g. if you purchased a single license on July 1 2022, your expiry for the term is Jun 30 2023. If you subsequently request an upgrade to suite on Sep 1 2022, we will prorate the cost of suite for 10 months and charge that to your payment method. On your renewal date on Jul 1 2023, we will charge for the full cost of suite for the subsequent 12 months and continue that every year till you cancel the subscription.
For downgrade, you will need to email support. As all of our plans are annual, we will cancel your renewals for the suite, and instead move you to a single visual subscription at the end of your subscription period. You can continue to use the suite till the end of the subscription period. But on the renewal date, you will add the new license and only be able to use the single visual.
Editor
We have an additional cost to maintain and run our Custom Visual Editor that is specifically there to help users like you make further customization to an existing custom visual. This allows us to offer additional services without burdening our low cost pre-created custom visual suites
License Usage
For licenses purchased directly through the Appsource, Microsoft will monitor the license usage on our behalf.
For the bucket purchases, to ensure 100% data security, we do not collect, store or transmit any information through our visuals to our servers, including license usage. However, this also puts the responsibility of monitoring license usage on the buyer. Please review our EULA (in the footer section) to get full information on your responsibilities while using our product.
For licenses purchased directly through the Appsource, seats are provided through the Microsoft Admin centre. Licenses needs to be assigned either individually to the users or through groups.
For purchases made on our website, 1 license key is provided per buyer. If multiple department from the same organization make separate purchases, then more than 1 license may be assigned. For Suite purchases, we additionally provide a copy of the visuals with license embedded for deployment through the Organizational Store.
For licenses purchased directly through the Appsource, a single license is assigned to a single user. It cannot be shared. You could however, unassign the license, and reassign it to another user. Please note that once you unassign, the prior user will not be able to use the visual until you assign him another license.
The license is limited to a specific number of users. You can share the key within the organization users it is licensed to. But you have to ensure that the total users are within the limits for the license purchased. Please refer to our End User License Agreement for more information on this.
